Feedback terrorism under the annoying power electronics moniker made murkier with a misogynistic bent verging on the broken. Whereas most sound masochists check S&M/BDSM via graphic graphics, Taint is full-tilt boogie, walking one into the din with some forced oral gagging action that does a whole lot to provoke and very little to excite. Power games in sexual situations rendered non-sexual by degradation of one contributing partner down to the role of soulless machine does nada for me. But the “music” here is useful and ranks up there with even the most pointed campaigns from the Land of the Rising Sun. Shafts of ear-splitting grit. Cherry-poppin’ gutter vox. Simulacrum of a shit life. It’s difficult listening because it’s supposed to be. And I can find no fault with that.
