Superchrist - Headbanger

Despite what could gently be termed as the offensive nature of Superchrist’s music, founder Chris Black is the kind of talent who inspires more than protracted groans and snickers. Former member of Nachtmystium, drummer for power metal group Pharaoh and mastermind of Dawnbringer, whose masterpiece
In Sickness and In Dreams passed nearly unnoticed through 2006, the guy has played in just about every style outfit with four dudes, drums and a guitar. Superchrist, however, is Black at his most explicit, vicious, misogynistic and scumdog motherfuckin’ self. Affectionately stupid in its self-awareness,
Headbanger packages lewd conduct together with metallic power-rock. It’s Motorhead meets Iron Maiden, lubed up and ready for the show. Every insult an anthem unto itself as Black hilariously deadpans lyrics like “The difference between you and me is a difference that you’ll never see” (“Electric Penis”) and “God forgives, so screw it!” (“Fuck Like A Priest") as the newly revamped lineup of Eddie Winter (Guitar) and Ian Pit Viper (Drums) tear through the set with considerable skill and force that momentarily reduces idols to afterthoughts. Somebody get these boys their own airplane!
