Metallica - Death Magnetic

 September 4 2008 at 09:18:42 AM

Damn right you already died.

Suckers still creaming over the fact that Kirk Hammet is soloing again, or that Hetfield and Ulrich still know how to pilfer from Diamond Head, need to back up until the truth sinks in. When you read that anything new by these divas is a "thematic sequel of sorts" (Brian Hiatt, Rolling Stone), know that it means they've completely run out of gas.

For every minute of Death Magnetic's over-blown track list, there's a band that never sold out, never wimped out and never made you embarrassed to see what they'd come up with next. Maybe they never had the chance; maybe they just knew when to punch out. This one's for the has-beens that didn't get to make their first million; the-never-was and coulda beens, the overlooked, the fallen and the forgotten Thrash Metal bastards of yore: Fuck this shit.

Looks like Lars has succumb to teh Internet, he no longer sees it being a problem that their music is shared online.

    Highly insightful review

You're no better than the people hailing the album as the second coming of christ. Grow the fuck up.

This site ain't made for charity. I'm not gonna mince words about what a complete failure this album is because they managed to bastardize parts of Fade to Black, Damage Inc, One, and Am I Evil over 100 something minutes of bogus rage. Dyers Eve was how many years ago? And I need to grow up? Hey, but maybe they'll get it right next time. Right?

Calling a turd a turd is what grown ups do. Great point about all the bands who knew when to hold them and when to fold them. Also Judas Priest proves its possible for a band to keep going and not make a complete mockery of their own best work.

Another terrible review from a generally awful site. You'd already written that review before you'd even heard it; admit it. Worthless 'review.'

i may get 'fired' for saying this, but so far, this record is an 'ok'/decent listen. sure it sounds contrived but i'd put this on as background music when cleaning the house or something.
