Jameson Raid - Just as The Dust Settled

Time is the enemy of identity. Collected works of The Band That Time Forgot bound and released by Shadow Kingdom is a long in the tooth, circulation ending denim sheath of electric white boy blues. Vibe is as much Michael Moorcock as it is
Space 1999 house band, as (superbly named) Terry Dark works Bon Scott simulacra with punky, narcotized lethargy. Were BOC’s
Fire of Unknown Origin more “Burnin’ for You” than “Veteran for Psychic Wars” Buck Dharma & Co. would’ve trumped Jameson Raid at their own stripped-down game of NWOBHM nebulae. ‘Twas not to be.
For every “The Hypnotist,” there’s a “Seven Days of Splendor” – hollow men thumping cow bells, crabbing chords, vocals distending with a sort of smoky indifference overbearing males apply to teenage “cockteases.” Grand Funk, Izzy the Push, and clap tracks play more minor than major roles, making this collection one of those records you’d throw on long after the party’s crashed, nothing left but a handle of Curaçao left on the counter.

Oddly interesting/engaging indifferent NWOBHM cum BOC. Had blogosphere hysteria ruled the earth back in JRaid's day, they wouldn't have had to wait on SK to reissue their collected work.
Subtract the drivel (a must for all their LPs) and you end up with a sound that everyone from April Wine to Y&T would be ripping off verbatim 4-5 years later. Instead, we got Cultosauraus Garbagus.
I'll have to check these guys out.
