I first heard the Misfits about 7 or 8 years back when I got a used copy of Collection. Officially, that was my first punk record. It was interesting to hear the original versions of the songs that Metallica covered. Of course, I loved it. Danzig sounded serious as a heart attack whilst singing words about old timey horror and pop culture. The production was originally unimpressive to me, but I soon found myself drawn to it's raw qualities. But what really stood out were the songs. Catchy, cleverly constructed, fun, as well as sinister. True decadence. I obtained the box set as well as a few downloads and have pieced together a pretty good facsimile of their discography. I adore it all. There's something special about hearing it around Halloween. Thanks for putting together this tribute.
